Kang is my first experiment in type design. It came to life during an intensive class in Bauer focusing on the issues of Anthropocene. The goal was to produce a typeface that would be illegible and that mimed some kind of view on Anthropocene. I was interested in the aspects of globalization, mutation and need to communicate in order to survive, so my typeface, Kang, is designed as a mixture of the roman alphabet with the shapes and characters of Hangul, Korean alphabet. This project was made during type design class with Alessio D’Ellena and César Bourgeois.
